I love taking the scenic route to and from work (Part 1, Part 2). The beginning and end of the route is the same as other days, but instead of traveling the main highway I turn and traverse several roads that ramble through neighborhoods.
Life is too short for traffic.

The houses are large—and the sizable yards are well maintained. Although this route is beautiful, I have fewer pictures because there are no traffic lights in the neighborhood . . . only before I enter and when I exit that area.
There are two golf courses along this route.
A nice pedestrian bridge for the extensive walking trails in the area.
A lovely lake.
A gorgeous clock in the village near the neighborhood.
Halloween and Christmas decorations.
Take your time and enjoy the scenery.
— Note to self when driving to and from work
Sometimes when it is raining or there are accidents on the main thoroughfare, I opt to go the scenic route. On occasion I may decide to go the scenic route simply for enjoyment. It adds ten or fifteen minutes to my trip, but it is worth it!
Other scenes along the way:
Always take the scenic route.

One of my favorite spots on the way home. The horizon is calming . . .
Taking pictures to and from work helps me be present in the moment and slow down mentally. I can more fully observe and be aware of little things. It helps me see creativity and beauty all around. This makes me grateful for life.
