Spring!
Every year spring delights and surprises. The joy of seeing flowers and trees come alive after the cold winter is extraordinary—and I never tire of the experience. There is nothing like spring!

Each season has its own sights and smells. Each has its particular light, temperature, weather, and foliage. Spring may be my favorite, but autumn is especially colorful and delightful!
As I looked outside this morning, I could not ignore the beauty in the awakening foliage and flowers. Try as I might to look away, to remain in a somber mood, and believe that all is lost—I could not stay in that mental space. Spring can’t be ignored.
Spring is my favorite season. It is a breath of fresh air after cold, dreary winter days. Warmer weather and more sunshine bring a feeling of newness and rebirth. Flowers begin to bloom and trees grow their leaves again—the sights and smells of spring feel magical.
Often I step outside and take pictures. Sometimes a beautiful sunset lures me outdoors—or the vibrant colors of autumn leaves beckon me to come closer. While I am walking around, I always look for things that aren’t so obvious—something small or hidden—perhaps interesting in shape or color. These pictures remind me of things for which I am thankful. They are images of Thanksgiving and of thanks-giving.
I hope you are as gleeful as I am when you happen upon a new word. I love finding new words to enrich my vocabulary and which provide a fresh way to say something. Try to remember the last time you learned a new word.
It has been hard to enjoy spring this year. Covid is still with us. The brutal attack on Ukraine brings a sense of sadness and horror dampening thoughts for world harmony. Pictures of families torn apart are heartbreaking. Seeing towns with buildings destroyed is hideous. This is such a waste. Do I still hope for the promise of spring?
Fall is not my favorite season. However, I do enjoy the cooler days with less humidity. I love the crispness of the air. I love the bold colors of the foliage on the trees, and watching the leaves drift gracefully through the sky to the ground. The smell of freshly raked leaves brings pleasant memories of raking leaves with my parents and of being able to rake leaves in my own yard as an adult.
This year the summer solstice occurs on Sunday, June 20 at 10:32 PM CDT and marks the start of summer in the Northern Hemisphere. Many fun songs have been written about summer. The following are my Top Ten favorite songs about summer.
One of my April joys is watching spring flowers blossom and bloom. I love all the varieties, sizes, and colors. In our current yard we do not have many colors. In past yards, I have planted lots of colorful shrubs...
