A short piano piece evoking the solitude of drifting on a moonlit lake. (Scroll down for video.)
drifting on a moonlit lake—
my destination
circumscribed
by shadowed shores
seeing hazy shadows float
in gentle rhythm—
glist’ning light
on ripples roll
hearing frogs and crickets sing
a serenade to
fireflies
who flit and flare
watching geese across the moon—
their plaintive calls—on
silver wings
that beat and bear
musing as i drift along
i think to rise—and
join them and
in freedom fly
but here i stop—
and remain—
still—
